(June 11th, open to Jakkie & Kevin. Cuz I said so.)
"AH!"
A jolt. A shock. Kevin awoke from the night, his green orbs wide with shock and a bright sense of fear. Sweat drenched off of him, his eyes flickering and fluttering as he stared towards the wall. His breath was audible. Another nightmare. Another night of seeing death in his dreams.
And this time Jakkie was the victim.
That made sense. They were friends now, close friends. Despite the fact she'd spoken to Xavir, Kevin would often wake with Jakkie curled up on his floor. Sometimes she'd even get bold and be laying at the bottom of his metal bed. He really did care for her. But everyone in past he cared for ended up dead. So he clammed up, never saying how his feelings were developing. But they were.
He leaned back on the bed frame, his chest rising and falling hard. This one was bad. Very, very, very bad.

As a matter of fact, that was where Jakkie was now. She had her own fair share of unsettling dreams and although she'd wake up much calmer, a bitter taste in her mouth she didn't want to deal with it alone. So often times she found herself leaving that room that Xavier had provided so graciously for her; open, spacious, with lots of windows and all. But Jakkie could never be settled by trivial things, even a nice living space after being deprived of that her whole life. She'd survived without it before, she didn't need it now, though it was admittedly nice.
This time though she wasn't on the floor or the end of the bed. This time she'd taken to the metal seat, and even brought a pillow with her this time, so she'd curled up, placed the pillow on the arm and had passed out there. Despite her somewhat cramped angle she seemed pretty sound. Until Kevin cried out.
She jolted out from the seat, stumbling at the sudden fall that greeted her but she caught herself with a hand. She hissed viciously and even in the dark the flicker of those red eyes could be seen, a dangerous split second but after determining it was only the pair of them in the room she seemed to calm. Jakkie stopped being sheepish about showing up to Kevin's room uninvited a long time ago so she cut past the awkwardness to searching him almost anxiously immediately.
"Kevin.." she said, and that was all she said. Or rather all she felt she needed to say as the tone was concerned and questioning at the same time. Rolling her shoulders she tentatively stood at the end of his bed, leaning on the metal frame before sliding down to see on the edge of the mattress, her relentless red eyes staring all the while.

As if slipping from the dream, Kevin looked up to a pair of bright red eyes. He was still out of breath as if he'd been running around campus. Immediately he went into a panic. Summer heat plus the fact he didn't have a female roommate any longer caused Kevin to sleep solely in his boxers. He immediately clutched the synthetic covers over him. "Jakkie..." He breathed. he pushed back his lengthy hair, trying to regain a bit of composure.
In the back of his mind he wondered if he should possibly start locking his door. But he didn't mind her late night visits. Somehow it made him feel safe.
"I'm okay..." He explained, "Just...just a bad dream that's all."

His lack of clothing didn't seem to process for her the same way it did for him. She hardly seemed bothered or distracted, eyeing him suspiciously for a moment with his sudden panic and scramble to cover himself. She herself was wearing sweats and a tank, not uncommon in the least. But Jakkie figured this was more about his power than teen insecurities.
"It's okay." she said simply. A statement not to assure that she wasn't bothered, but to assure him that it was something that happens- that he was only in his room right now and everything was actually fine. Contrary to whatever happened in the dream. She chewed on the inside of her cheek before tiredly rubbing at her face, her eyes. Though she looked away when she spoke next, running a hand through her pale hair.
"I get them too." Jakkie confessed, shrugging. "Do you want to talk about it?" she offered, red eyes finally returning to Kevin's. Such a proposition wouldn't likely have been extended to anyone but him.

Kevin, despite the heat, was cuddled up in the covers. His breath had gone back to a normal pattern, a slow breathing in the dark air. He flicked on the light next to his bed, nearly knocking over the sketchbook casually tossed there. He turned back to Jakkie, blushed slightly and sighed.
"It's fine," he said, "Just...y'know...death touch boy." He leaned back on his pillow. "It's alright. You...you look tired. Go back to sleep." He grinned.
"Wherever..."

Jakkie's eyes searched him, and there was a touch of skepticism but also an alarming amount of understanding. For Jakkie, that was rather phenomenal. She wasn't an understanding creature, and if she was the list was as minimal as it could get for the people who were on it. As it stands, there was only one person on that list that she was understanding for. She watched his different signals of nervousness turn to a sort of calmness. Even as he bumped the sketchbook she'd noted that as well. The sketchbook. Jakkie had seen some of it's pages, and thought Kevin avoided allowing her to see the few sketches of herself, Jakkie knew they were there. It was flattering, and had more of an appeal to her than he'd know.
Then he grinned, and her ears twitched in a sort of pleasure to the gesture. She liked Kevin's smile, and if he knew her well enough he'd be able to read the small tells that Jakkie gave to those certain emotions.
"You know I won't sleep until you talk to me." she told him. What she meant was she won't be able to sleep until he talked to her. Then she tucked her legs up on the bed with her and flopped onto her side, arching slightly so she could cross her arms and rest her head there. It was nearly catlike, and her sharp red eyes never once wavered from the boy with the death touch that sat before her.

"I know."
The response was quick, breathy, full of knowledge like someone who knew the person they were talking about like the back of their hand. He was starting to know the girl before him like that. He was also starting to find himself more comfortable around her. Joking, laughing. A simple brush of his gloved hand over her cheek would send him into a panic however, and that was what kept him tucked against the headboard.
"I saw...well you know...death...in my dreams. It happens a lot. No big deal."
