((June 1st, Open Roleplay for anyone in Gotham.. ;w; ))
It had been a couple months and most things in Gotham and New York had been relatively quiet. Selina had taken a back seat to the crime, keeping her robberies mild and disconcerting. Bane had been mostly quiet, but it was still quite obvious that he was around and kicking. And Remy? He’d since been forgiven for his distasteful behavior towards her, but she hadn’t forgotten. Selina didn’t forget these things.
As for the bat situation in Gotham… Well, Selina was laying low for a reason. Rumors of Bruce’s return had been spread and she doubted it wasn’t without cause. Batman would return, and the Bat Family would thrive as ever before with their beloved leader back. Blake didn’t quite have Bruce’s charm to lead them anyways. Regardless it was bad news for Selina. She’d left Bruce for Gotham, after all. She never should have left the city to be honest, but at a different time she thought she’d be able to do it. Handle a commitment. But she was just as lacking in loyalty as she’d ever been. A true feline in many senses, this included.
Now, however, Selina sat perched on the corner of a roof. She was leaning back on her palms, one leg tucked under her knee, the other leg hanging over the edge. She was wearing her cat suit, black leather, whip around her waist and goggles pushed back from her eyes. Gotham had been pleasantly nonthreatening to her lately that she figured some leisure time looking over the city was due. It was cloaked in night, but the streets did their best to be brightly lit to fight off the shadows. But this was Gotham after all. Perhaps she should have been more wary, being out in the open. It was a possibility that the Bat might be out tonight. She breathed in, rolling her shoulders and tilting her head to either side.
"Maybe it's time to head in for tonight." Selina sighed to herself. Yet still made no move to indicate she was going to act on that thought.

Now normally, Remy didn't approve of being in a disorganized state.
But the past few months had treated him kindly, Batman’s return still nothing more than a rumor for him. He’d cleaned house on a particularly licentious drug totting Gotham socialite around a week back – he’d lost a slight handle on his days – and was still riding on the cash he’d collected from it, still working on fencing some of the load. He’d lost his coat. That was unfortunate, but it had been in service to a shivering woman waiting for her taxi, and he still had his shoes, pants, and short sleeve after a long night of poker – financial and strip – so he considered the night a success.
Now if only he could figure out why everything was lilting to the right. Tugging his flask from his pocket, he took a swig. He sighed heavily, looking glumly to the ground where the girl’s number on the back of a business card sat on the ground. He considered picking it up, but it seemed like an awful lot of work.

People watching from the roof was a little different than people watching from a bench. And by different it more or less meant that when you see someone you know- you don't notice right off the bat that it's someone you know. It took Selina moment to recognize the familiar look of the man on the street, and only after she'd noticed some traits, did she actually take a moment to look a little closer.
Yep. She knew him, the scoundrel. Selina tilted her head, sitting forward and leaning more of her right arm, leaving her left hand on her lap. He seemed to be having trouble with straight lines, but was currently eyeing up something on the ground. Whatever was on the ground that held some interest to him, obviously didn't hold the same interest for Selina. She stayed perched where she was, not about to leap to the ground for Remy.
"What're you looking at, silly man?" she mumbled to herself.
She could easily let him keep walking, have him entirely miss her and not bother with any pleasantries. But on the other hand he looked a little out of sorts. And that was amusing, almost cute. Selina put her thumb and index finger together, producing a loud piercing whistle. If she knew him well enough, that'd catch his attention. Whether he'd find her on her roof corner though, was another thing. Upon the chance that he did, she'd give a small cheeky wave with one hand, and lean back once again.

There was someone else watching from the top of a building. Batman was indeed back, and patrolling the streets. Bane and the Joker had both been spotted in Gotham, roaming the streets, and crime was, if anything, on the rise. Proof that Batman's work was far from done, and he was still needed. It was also proof that none of the other members of the 'Bat Family' were ready to take up the cowl.
He hadn't really been on the lookout for Selina. While she'd proved she didn't share his opposition to killing, she wasn't a murderer. A thief, and a good one, but no murderer. He was crouched on the edge of a building overlooking both the shorter building she was sitting on, and the street below, and its occupant.
Remy LeBeau, alias Gambit, a card shark, and expert thief. Again, not somebody very high on Batman's priority list. And a potential asset. Word on the street had him helping some of the more down on their luck residents of Gotham. But that remained to be seen. As did whatever Selina intended when she whistled to attract Remy's attention.
For now, the Dark Knight remained crouched where he was, as silent as a stone gargoyle.

Instantly diverted, Remy lifted his head at the noise piercing through the regular city sounds. He squinted, trying to find the noise, looking around above. He thought he saw something larger in the shadows, but once he clapped eyes on Selina, lounging on the rooftop like she'd done it all her life, a reckless grin of delight stole his mind away from whatever the other might be. For all he knew, it was a vent.
"Cher!" Remy hooted, pressing a hand to his heart and lifting the other. "Be-still mah heart, if it ain't de mos' lovely lady in town. What chu doin' up dere, enjoying de view?"
Clearly, he wasn't referring to the dark, slightly grungy street. Delighted, he moved closer to the bottom of her building, looking for a way up. Sober, it would have been a minor task. In his state, he still thought it would be, but that was far from the same thing. He examined a fire escape, folded up and far out of range. Fishing a card from his pants pocket, he lit it up liberally, flicking it.
The card exploded as it collided with the brick wall, sending off a plume of red smoke and scattering bits of debris everywhere. Remy frowned, tilting his head, fishing around for another card. "Two's a charm?"

The show was nothing short of amusing to Selina, and also extremely appealing. She was a vain creature and anyone who knew her well, also knew that. Unfortunately Remy knew her pretty well by now, but she'd always done her best to keep secrets from him. No matter, he was putting on a show, so she would too. She crossed her legs, placing a hand on her knee and bobbing her foot lightly. She'd worn the heels today. Not as practical, but it did call to her narcissistic side. In fairness, she wasn't stealing anything tonight anyways- so she'd assumed she wouldn't need to be too practical.
"I'd like to say yes but there isn't much to look at." she sighed dramatically. Quickly after, a laugh followed that she stifled with the back of her hand.
She watched Remy chuck a card into the wall, the explosion managed to reach her even, the remains of a brick or two tumbling near her. She reached and gave one a little tweak, then considered Remy as he searched for another card. She didn't fight that grin that graced her lips. He looked right foolish from up here.
"Easy tiger. Maybe you oughtta' stay on the ground." she suggested cheekily, before pouting and adding, "It is much safer there, no?"
She was definitely a tease. And a tease that was entirely ignorant the the distinct shadows behind her. Any thoughts of Batman previously had vanished when Remy came strolling up the street. To her, he was the picture of care-free fun. Enough to make Selina forget her worries for a short time.

"Shady looking fuckers huh?"
If Bruce Wayne aka Batman would look to his side he'd notice a black clad youth next to him. Black except for the blue bird on his chest. Well at least it partially remembered a bird. It wasn't the greatest design he'd handed to Alfred. He turned a slick grin on Bruce as he perched over, staring at Selina and the strange male. Who were they? Why was Bruce watching them? He kept his mouth shut though.
Didn't wanna seem like an eager kid in front of the boss man.

Batman didn't turn his head at Nightwing's inquiry, remaining focused on the two thieves below. He remained still even when the tremor from the explosion made the building tremble. If these buildings weren't already condemned, even if destruction crews weren't going to be scheduled to clear them away any time soon, he'd have swooped in to put a stop to property damage.
But foe now, he would just watch, and wait. "Selina Kyle and Remy LeBeau. Catwoman and Gambit. Expert thieves," he said softly, voice pitched to reach Nightwing's ears only, and no further. It should be obvious why the two of them interacting would be of possible interest to him.

"Safer, mon dieu! Perish de thought oh doin' someting safer," Remy shook his head, mockingly aghast. Pulling his arm back, he stuck his tongue out giving the impression of a school boy, whipping the glowing card at the fire escape. With another loud blast, the ladder came swinging down, the right side half way up practically gone from the explosion. It was stupid to be making this much noise, but he couldn't seem to summon the energy to care.
He took a running jump, catching the bottom rungs of the ladder and hoisting himself up with a loud groan. He clambered up to the first landing, leaping up onto the railing and calling, "So Cher, when are we gon' do some good old fashion business, eh? De cities so quiet lately, one might think we were all acting lawful."
Shaking his head as if the idea were scandalous, he swayed precariously on the thin metal, grabbing the wall to support himself as he peered down at the ground. He pulled out the flask again, hopping onto the landing and beginning to return to his ascent, taking another swig. Normally he might have been starting to get a sense of being observed, but with his senses all focused on Selina, he was utterly oblivious to their audience.
"Sides' word is de big bad Bat 'as been making appearances. Bes' tah get while the gettin' is good." The bourbon was making his accent thicker.

She closed an eye at the second explosion, then let her neck carry her cheek to her shoulder. If she hadn't been sure that he was drinking before, then it was all free for anyone to see once he'd taken out his flask. His talk of business was ambitious for a drunk man and she was too sober to take any part of it. The city was quiet for a reason, and Remy had said it himself. The Bat was supposedly back. Who, besides Bane and the Joker, and all those big name villains, were going to tamper with that while no one had tested that theory.
"Maybe if you talk about him louder he'll show up, sweetie." she tutted, shifting her position so she could better see the man. "Or is that what you want?"
It certainly wasn't what Selina wanted. That was one reunion she could do without. Almost out of paranoia she glanced at a few roof tops near her. Regretfully, not the one that mattered with nearly as much alertness as she should have. She was a little caught up with Remy's antics though.
"I'm not sure you're ready for Gotham at it's best." she sighed, unsure that Bruce would much like Gambit. "You were hardly ready for it at its worst..." She was of course talking about Bane, and Remy's encounter with him. The silly man had to go track the masked mercenary down ages ago, and to be honest Selina was surprised that Remy was still alive.

Nightwing or John or Richard had felt the vibrations himself but kept his face still. He turned his head slightly, eyes narrowed towards the darkness. Selina Kyle. Remy LeBeau. "I'm familiar," he muttered under his breath. Yeah he'd met up with Selina before. Remy as well. A stuffy gala in Gotham, a quick exchange of banter. A mutant, a kitty cat and a dance. Nightwing shook his head, dark hair blowing slightly at his side. He let silence hang on the air for a second before turning his nose towards Bruce again.
"Not that I'm one to pry into the Batman's tactics but what exactly are we doing following them around?" Sure, he'd just come upon the Batman Bruce Wayne stalking Selina and Remy and he could theoretically have been off doing other things but he felt the need to inquire. What was he so concerned about a pair of two-bit thieves for?
"We've got the Joker running amok, the Mad Hatter kidnapping girls, Bane doing who the heck knows what and you're wasting your talents on a pair of thieves?" He raised a teasing eyebrow. "Or are ya jealous, old man?" He couldn't help it. Sometimes the playful side peaked out.

Red Robin was watching the two thieves as well as he crouched so they couldn't see him, waiting for a chance to strike hoping for a chance to get the location of his adoptive father, Batman, however he knew that the Villains were running amok in the city of Gotham, they were and always have run amok, he knew Selina, but didn't know about the other thief, they were the least of his worries, it was villains like the Joker, Mad Hatter, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze and Bane that he was worried about, once he convinces Batman that the city is in trouble, he will deal with the thieves later.

[I'm going to assume Red Robin is crouched...?]
Unaware that anyone else was nearby, Harley hopped nimbly across the rooftops (on a comically sized pogo stick, no less). She was alone, not really intending to cause any specific trouble that night - not to say she intended to have a crime free night, of course - but as she hopped from one roof to another, a figure caught her eye. Setting her feet on the roof, she squinted down at the figure, trying to make them out in what little light she had to go by.
Well well well. Red Robin, huh? Smirking, Harley set her pogo stick down where she stood, and, shimmying down a drainpipe on the side of the building silently, she decided to have some fun with him. She approached him, and slyly slid her hands over his chest from behind and purred teasingly into his ear. "Well hey there, little bluebird...you lost? Where's Batsy?"
She knew full well she was likely to be met with a violent reaction...but she couldn't resist.

Red Robin felt hands slid over his chest by Harley, then heard her purr into his ear, he violently shook Harley off him he then looked at the clown girl. “No, I’m not lost, but to answer your question, I don’t know where Batman is.” He replied to Harley.
He looked back at the two thieves. “But I have a feeling that these two thieves, Catwoman and the guy she’s with will answer that question.” He then looked at Harley. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be working with the Joker?” He wasn't trying to get rid of her, it would give him someone to talk to, so he doesn't get bored waiting for his chance to strike so he could get the answers he seeks from Catwoman and her cohort.

Remy pursed his lips, eyes narrowed."Aw Chere, low blow."
Tucking the flask into his back pocket, he sped up, filled with child like amusement. As he got near to the top of the fire escape, he leaped off the railing, throwing a hand out to catch the edge of the roof. He grunted as one arm managed to hook over the few feet of wall meant to prevent people from falling off the building rather than climbing on. He hung for a moment, looking down below.
"Long way down!" he called to Selina, switching arms experimentally. "If I fall, chu tink I'd have time tah catch the rail before I went splat?"
He pretended to slip, then chuckled hoisted himself onto the roof, not so elegantly rolling onto the scratchy surface, landing in a heap. Still giggle he got to his feet, swinging his arms out triumphantly. "Bonjour! I have, *hick* arrived."
Remy scanned the roofs, trying to find one close enough that he might go for a running spree. He tilted his head as he noticed another duo on a roof, another woman and what looked like someone in red. He squinted, wandering toward Selina in a tilted line. Cupping his mouth, Remy shouted at the top of his lungs, "Mon ami! Dis area be reserved, get your own rooftop!"
Swaying he'd land beside Selina sitting the opposite way, and attempt to lay his head on her shoulder with a sigh, nuzzling at her. "Chere, I 'tink I may 'ave been drinking."
