Powers/Abilities:
Liara possess telekinesis and telepathy, which she uses almost constantly as she relies on it to communicate with others, being deaf. So far she has developed the ability to read thoughts and to essentially hijack their senses, experiencing sound through the minds of others. In hand with that, she can manipulate others senses to make them see and hear things that aren't there, but she's very poorly practiced in that as she's only ever used it to make lies for people close to her who are unhappy.

Team Affiliation: None at the moment, to shy to approach the Xavier institute till her brother does
Personality: Her parent's nicknamed her mouse mostly based upon her personality, and even at sixteen it's a fairly apt description. She's extremely shy due to being deaf from birth, and being sheltered by her parents makes her fairly naive and innocent. Despite the manifestation of manipulative powers, Liara doesn't feel comfortable using her powers for anything other than ethical situations. She's fascinated by people, and once she's comfortable speaking with the person (she still feels very self-conscious about her voice which is sometimes over expressive or loud as she tries to compensate for her inability to hear), she's a very empathetic, friendly individual.

History:
Having been born deaf, she was always very sheltered and very protected by her family. Her parents need to protect her only seemed to amplify after Avery began exhibiting mutant abilities, both of them practically being shut away to protect them from the world. While Avery grew to resent their need to control, Liara grew to appreciate it as she remained at home for schooling while he went to public school. She preferred to observe the world in limited doses, for which she owed Avery everything. She wasn't forbidden to leave the house, but her parents were always tense about the issue, and Avery frequently liberated her for simple adventures.
Her powers surfaced after one such excursion, when they returned home to find their parents in uproar. She didn't understand what the issue was, and as they were arguing with Avery no one was using sign language to help her follow along. She tried to read lips, but they were all talking so quickly. This time if felt different, dangerous. Their dad stepped up to Avery, and terrified he was about to hit hurt brother she screamed for them to stop. A vase flew off the kitchen table, and smashed against the wall.
She'd never forget the sound of crystal clattering on the hard wood. The sound had been overwhelming, confusing. Wonderful. But her abilities made her parents all the more adamant that she be shielded. They were more tolerant of her powers than with Avery, but ultimately when he decided to leave she elected to go with him. She didn't want to hide anymore. She wanted to experience things, even if she could only do it through the perception of others.

Sample Post:
Sitting at the street side porch of the restaurant, Liara could watch without having to worry too much about being approached. She smiled, the painfully loud city booming in her mind where her own ears failed her. The more people around her, the more clearly she could hear. And that was part of what made New York so magical to her - it felt like she was almost never alone in the quiet anymore. Her attention was diverted as someone spoke.
"Are you ready to order?"
A flush crept over Liara's skin, and she shook her head. She spoke carefully and deliberately, trying not to be too loud. "I'm waiting for my brother. Could I get a Coke please?"
The male waiter nodded, smiling politely, but she could hear the other side in his mind. People were good at sniffing out the different. Still, she thought she'd done fairly well, and to celebrate focused her attention on the people closest to the inside, where music was filtering out to meet the horns and motors of cars. Liara closed her eyes, drinking in the light tones and cracking speed of the song, some popular hit on the radio. She bit her lip, glowing with delight
