(June 1st at about midnight. Open to Jakkie and Jeffery.)
Nighttime.
He was sitting, reclined in one of the plush chairs in the institute's game room. The room was crisp and silent, deadly and creepy. He was staring at the dark TV, nothing on, nothing even fuzzing. There were trillions of thoughts rushing through his head. How he didn't want to go back to bed. How he was wondering why nobody had talked to him that day. Had they heard of his powers? This frustrated him. There were people who could literally kill people.
What was so strange about him?
His eyes closed slightly, tilting back on the couch. Bed. He should be sleeping in his fluffy new bed but he was afraid. Well not afraid...his eyes narrowed darkly as he peered towards the doorway. Was someone passing through? Passing by? He didn't move but he was on edge.

She spent a good amount of time out of the room at night. Being out in the day was technically more attention drawing, and Jakkie wasn't exactly enrolled in any classes at this place. She didn't intend to be either. But she spent a considerable more amount of time outside of the room when Kevin was being moody. He still managed to be a baby about his powers even when she'd been here for a good couple months and clearly understood them as well as he did. His heart-ache of the damage they'd done wasn't any better or worse than her own anyways.
Of course, she hadn't expected anyone to be in the game room when she'd headed here. She remembered they had some sweet plush chairs that she was particularly fond of. Actually- on more than one occasion she'd thought of dragging one back to Kevin's room. But with a boy who ruined anything that wasn't synthetic it seemed a little ridiculous and unnecessary. Not to mention, she wasn't sure if she could keep from killing him if he ruined a chair she specifically dragged all the way to his room.
She stopped, a few steps after the doorway, looked at the back of the head of the boy who was on the couch, grunted, then turned to leave. She didn't want to talk to some nobody kid.

Ah so someone was there.
The male lifted his head upwards, tilting back on the couch. He rose slightly from the darkness, a slight awkward strange smile on his face. Which brightened the second he peered at the person and stopped she was a girl. A pretty girl too. He hadn't seen her before. His mind raced slightly as he felt her blood flowing through her veins. Normal, unafraid. He stuffed his hands in his PJ bottom pockets and stood from the plush cushion.
"Hi," he said softly, "What're you doing up?"

She grunted again, but stopped when he spoke. But Jakkie didn't turn around, instead she stood planted where she was, fists clenched and pressed her lips together. She was hoping he'd just let her go without a conversation, most kids here did anyways. Whether it was because they were teenagers and didn't care, or because she didn't look friendly, or because of her widely known involvement with Kevin, she didn't care. People didn't talk to her and that was fine. But sighed- because this one was.
"I like it at night." she confessed over her shoulder, "I don't like talking to people." she hinted heavily. Her gaze was nothing short of cold and disinterested. Maybe he'd accept her short answer that was obviously telling him she didn't have any interest in talking, and let her go.
It's what anyone else would do.

Jakkie was the first person to give him the time of day for more than 2 minutes so naturally Jeffery was eager to continue the conversation. Grinning like a fool, he walked out from behind the couch, showing off dorky plaid pajama pants and a matching shirt. He looked a little over eager in fact. He seemed not to get the hint that she was trying to push away. Perhaps she'd gone to get a snack or something. When she spoke he offered a nod. As acknowledgement he'd understood.
"Yeah night's cool! I mean...it's dark and stuff but it's quiet. You like the quiet I guess?" He breathed and then continued. "Yeah, I don't mind it either way. I don't like sleeping though. Nightmares and stuff. Do you get nightmares? I get'em bad. Maybe that's why I...never mind." He flushed.
"I'm Jeffery. Jeffery Del Ray. But they let me choose a codename. I liked IV. Not like the number. The thing they stick in your arms at hospitals. What's your name? I'm Jeffe-oh I said that already."

She did finally turn around- probably more because she was paranoid than anything. The kids here all looked at her like she was the animal, but she remained convinced that it was the other way around. In any case, trust issues were evident, and she couldn't seem to keep the look of bewilderment off her face as he approached her, still talking. her mouth was even set ajar a tad as she slowly shook her head at the bizarre kid.
All the same, she did answer.
"Jakkie.... just Jakkie..." she told him. But inside her gut twisted. She almost instantly regretted it but in her haste to express she wasn't interested in this 'code-name' crap, she'd given up information that could be valuable to him.
No.. She had to remind herself that this was just a school full of kids. Not everyone thought as diabolically as her, and not everyone was out for her blood. She heaved a sigh and shook her head again as she ran over his whole 'IV' concept in her mind. Perhaps if it was anyone but Jakkie, she'd appreciate the cleverness of it. But Jakkie didn't care.
"That's really nice..." she said flatly, putting her hand on the door frame as she made to leave again.

"Jakkie.... just Jakkie..."
"Hi Jakkie." He repeated the name. Partially because he wanted to remember, partially because he wanted her to know he'd heard her. He brightened up. She was responding! She was talking! She wasn't running or laughing at him or pushing or shoving him. He grinned stupidly. But internally he panicked as she gripped the doorframe. She was leaving! NO! There was no one around to see he was being a loser! He could try and impress her. She could be his friend! Maybe even his best friend!
"I thought it was clever. Right? It's better than like 'blood guy' or something, y'know? That'd just be stupid. Right?" He chuckled.
"So, why haven't I seen you here around and stuff? Like walking around? Or going to class?"

She couldn't believe he was still going... How did he find so much to say when she'd been so blunt? She was deliberately shutting down conversation? Was he relentless and needy, or just extremely social? Actually, reconsidering he was definitely needy. Well if she couldn't chase him away with bluntness, maybe she could scare him off.
"Yeaah..... Listen, I'm a 'confined' student." she lied, and nodded convincingly. So he wouldn't have to ask why she also explained that. Looking over her shoulder, she smiled grimly at him without so much as batting a red eye, "I have anger issues."
That was true, at least. Still, she wasn't done trying to escape. Maybe at the very least she could grab a drink of water. She left through the doorway, hoping she'd creeped him out enough that he'd stay behind in the room. If he followed her- she'd have to make her kitchen trip pretty short. She couldn't go back to Kevin's room with this kid on her heels...

He seemed to bounce after her it seemed, the stupid grim on his face never leaving. She was shutting him down, he noticed that yeah but he couldn't let her just run off. He didn't want to go to bed and risk not making this girl his new friend. Having a friend around there would have made life a lot happier. Chatting in the cafeteria, sitting outside in the sun, he wanted to do it all!
"Anger issues? No problem! My Dad had those too. Mostly when it came to me and my powers. They scared him something awful. If you're confined how come you can roam around at night? They shouldn't keep you locked away, that's not right at all." He trotted up next to her, following her, intent on continuing the conversation. As he continued to speak the motive was clear. He was DESPERATE for attention.
"So Jakkie, are your anger issues part of your powers? Like the Hulk or something? Can you just not control them? I can control mine but sometimes when I get scared they get out of control."

"Not like mine he didn't..." Jakkie growled to herself. He was asking so many questions she could hardly keep up. So she just kept walking. Down this hall, around the corner. She shoved her way into the kitchen. Now that she got here, she realized she didn't even really want anything, it had just been a detour she was going to take to shake off this guy.
But he was still here.
"Cause there isn't a lot of people at night. Less risk I'll run into anyone who'll seriously make me mad." she sighed. A dull explanation for her half-assed lie. She was better when she wanted to be, but she figured he'd eat up anything she gave to him. But the way he talked about his power became a little worrisome.
"What is it you... do again?" she asked with a wrinkled nose, giving him a suspicious side-glance. She'd regret asking, she was sure.

Jeffery listened intently. Mamma always said to listen when people were talking. Even if they were being cryptic. As they entered the kitchen, Jeffery took a seat on one of the stools at the counter. He tucked his hands under his chin, lifting his shoulders in a shrug. "Dads suck," he mumbled. His father. The only one who'd survived his carnage. The worst of all.
"I won't make you mad. I promise!" He crossed his heart with a finger before leaning back slightly. He looked around. "What were you looking for? There's some cookies in the cabinet. Chocolate chip. Not a fan of those."
"What is it you... do again?"
"My powers? Oh. Those. It's weird, kinda complicated. But I can try and explain. Without showing you. If I show you it might hurt. A lot." He breathed in deeply.
"My powers are like this. Professor X says they're telekinetic in nature. I can move, shape, do all sorts of things with blood. Lost of things. I can stop a bruise or..." His voice took a creepy tone as he stared dead at Jakkie's red eyes. "I can stop your heart."

She gave a grunt in response when he promised not to make her mad. That wasn't a promise he'd likely be able to keep, seeing as he was already grating at her nerves. She tried to keep ignoring him regardless, not responding and grabbed a cup out of a cupboard when he suggested cookies. It when was he started talking about his powers, that she actually listened. She looked over her shoulder once she'd reached the sink, slowing to a stop and frowning.
"Telekinetic blood.." she repeated in a very quiet mumble. And then he got serious and said he could stop her heart. Her brow strained as she held his stare for a moment, then turned to fill the cup with water. She took a gulp without turning around, putting the cup on the counter and rubbing her eyes.
"Aren't you tired?" she suggested with a groan. She knew she was, but maybe she was just getting tired of him.

She didn't comment; another point in her favor. Most people, even mutants here, thought he was a freak. A freak among freaks. He smiled softly, scratching at his shoulder slightly. "Yeah sort of," he said, "Telekinesis that pertains to blood. It's weird. Professor explained it to me once but I didn't really get it."
"Aren't you tired?"
"A little...but...um..." He didn't have a roommate; Xavier was afraid that he might not have control over his powers at night and might harm a fellow student. Which he was fine with, he liked his private room. But he didn't like sleeping. It annoyed him. It was a waste of time. And with his little 'issue' it was uncomfortable for him too. But he held off mentioning that. Wouldn't want to embarrass himself.
"I don't like sleep," he just offered.

She stared at him for a long moment without saying anything. Flat face, passive features and unreadable eyes. And then she squinted at him, as if he was the difficult one to read. In fairness she wasn't giving off a lot of vibes that said `yeah sure I`d love it if you followed me everywhere at night!'
"...Listen..." she started slowly, rubbing her eye and sighing. "I don't... I think maybe it's time to go to bed." she huffed. Her sentence took a distinct change half way. Perhaps she thought better about pissing off the kid who had very particular blood magic.
"Yeah." she added, uncomfortably rolling her shoulders. "Maybe you should try... Sleeping." she suggested, a half-hearted attempt at sounding genuine.

"I don't... I think maybe it's time to go to bed."
"Oh..." He looked severely disappointed. He rubbed his shoulder, looking around. "Uh...okay. I guess. Um...I guess I'll go back to sitting. If...you..."
"Maybe you should try... Sleeping."
"I just told you, I don't like sleeping. I hate it." His eyes narrowed as he shrugged. "Maybe I'll go play around with some viles from the nurse's office. Maybe I will. Say...is that death touch kid your boyfriend?"
